Photographs are moments in time in which we desire to remember. They are
our memories. In this piece, I utilized photography that I took during
my study abroad experience (fall 2004) to create landscapes. My intentions
with each landscape were to portray my own emotions, experiences, and thoughts
about each location to the user. However, the longer a user explores
one "landscape," the
photography begins to fragment, and lose certain details. Just like
our own memories—fragmented by time.
The main navigation is the colored bars displayed on a timeline. The navigation
is abstract enough not to interfere with the photography, but also legible
enough to understand as a timeline. Each color block responds to a certain
travel experience / location. At any time, the user can jump to another landscape. |
